This and That - 02

I love the sound of rain and thunder when I'm inside and don't have to go anywhere...Why does milk taste so good with cookies?...Whatever you think of President Obama, that guy has lots of energy...I love living just outside DC in Fairfax County at Seven Corners, except for the traffic at all those corners, of course...The families of the Air France flight victims are in our prayers...The TV stations do a great job of warning us of dangerous weather...James Spann in Birmingham, Alabama, is the best in the business...ABC did a great special last night on taking care of our planet...I hope Diet Coke isn't bad for you...if it is, I'm toast...Saw a great presentation of Shakespeare presented by Ambleside School today...well done...Cell phones sure save us a lot of time, don't they? Or do they take more time because we can call everybody?...I wonder if the internet will replace most functions of the Post Office...some newspapers are going out of business because of the internet...is this progress, or bad news?...I love my Libronix bible software from logos.com...it's the best...I wish there were a Sams and a Wal-Mart closer to home...Marilyn is feeling almost back to normal today...Timothy is my right-hand man in everything...completely trustworthy and loyal, and a hard worker...The Arlington Public Library is great...haven't been to the Fairfax County Library yet...Have you ever tried the barbecue in the restaurant at the Museum of American History in DC yet? Delicious. A little expensive, too...I think we should all start taking our own bags to grocery stores...we need to start doing that...The Washingotn Metro system is the best...those Metro stations still look brand new, even after thirty years or so...rates are really reasonable, too...I wonder if people will ever decide that pennies just aren't worth the trouble...Later.

This and That - 01

Our family saw "Up" over the weekend in 2D...packed theater...kids and old folks loved it...had marks of a good movie (for me)...made me think, made me laugh, made me cry...It's so cool getting to baptize kids...I baptized Dante, Jasper and Jonny yesterday...all great guys...Marilyn (my wife) was in the hospital Friday night with shortness of breath...doctors tested everything testable and found nothing...must be a virus, praise the Lord...A really old guy was in the next room but was sitting, actually, in the hall, obviously unhappy to be there...he looked old and grumpy...found out he's 91 and had heart surgery and was experiencing the usual mind games that go with heart surgery...remembered he used to be a ten year old kid and then a 20 year old guy with dreams for the future...now his body is worn out...prayed for him, hoping he knows Jesus...Although I miss my friends in Ohio, I sure don't miss the weather...loving summers again...I am addicted to random Wikipedia articles...I have a program that gives me one with the click of a button...great reading in the bathroom...I really love trees all around (except in Autumn when leaves hit the ground)...Marilyn came home from the hospital on my birthday...no time for a cake, so she made me great muffins with a candle on each...I love Jeopardy and record it to watch it later each night...part of my Wikipedia trivia addition, I guess...My favorite book in the Bible could just be Colossians...What did we do before laptops?...Customer service is really great at the Home Depot in Seven Corners and the Radio Shack across the street on Rt. 50...Lots of people are checking our Kids Ministry Website (http://straightstreet.net) and I'm excited...Timothy gave me a fifteen dollar iTunes gift card for my birthday and I bought three History Channel specials...Have a great day!
